Well, friends. Thirteen weeks went by lightning fast here in Tampa! In this blog you will read about our last weeks in May which includes Bobby’s last day of his first travel assignment!! We are so thankful to have you on this ride with us. We can’t believe that his assignment is over already! To catch those up if you didn’t see the last update, we will be staying the month of June in Tampa while we wait on approval for another state license to come through. We are actively applying to travel assignments as they appear on travel agency websites and talking with recruiters. Please be praying for us while we are in this time of waiting. We can’t wait to inform you of where we will be next!
Week 12 Adventures
[May 16] We went to Fort De Soto for some late evening fishing. We have been learning about the solunar tides and today was the perfect day for fishing following a full moon the night before. The first few casts I had I pulled in two fish but we weren’t sure what type of fish they were so I released the first one. Then when I had pulled in the second fish, the guy behind us asked if he could have it to bring home for dinner. I said sure! He let us know that they were called Whiting fish, and lucky for him the second fish I caught was bigger than the first!

[May 17] We woke up early and headed out to the Sunshine Skyway Bridge North Pier for another day of fishing. We didn’t have much luck catching anything big enough to take home, but we did enjoy being out in the sunshine and catching a bunch of bait fish. Towards the end of our time on the pier, I decided to look for any miscellaneous fishing items that had been left behind by others. While I cleaned up a good bit of fishing line and old hooks, I did find a good amount of sharp hooks, weights and sinkers, and swivels that can be used again. Then we had a late lunch at Armature Works.

[May 18] This morning, Bobby released a podcast we had been working on! It’s called Modern Day Faith Podcast! Click the link to check it out or search for it and subscribe on Apple Podcast or Spotify! Bobby is the main host of the podcast and he’ll be interviewing pastors, worship leaders, entrepreneurs and more to be a platform to share their stories about different ways to serve the Lord and the church. When Bobby and I were in college we often played music together, we still do, but at the time we always said if we had a band together we would call it Modern Day Faith; so, all these years later we are so excited to use this name for the podcast! You’ll even hear the music in the intros and outros written and played by me too! I’m so excited for Bobby and this new podcast and hope that you all will listen along as we use our time traveling to now also speak to difference makers for the Lord wherever we go! In the first podcast episode, Bobby speaks with Josiah Ravish from Ride Nature. And if you look back to Weeks 4, 5, & 6 blog post, you can read all about the day we spent down in Fort Myers, FL with the staff of Ride Nature!
After releasing the podcast, we had a beach day at Clearwater Beach. We drove north of Pier 60 towards the residential homes to find a less touristy spot and cheaper parking. The water was perfect today too!

[May 19] We spent the morning into the afternoon fishing at Weaver Park in Dunedin off the pier. We caught a few bait fish and Bobby caught a little Barracuda! We had lunch in Dunedin and that evening we went fishing at Pier 60 in Clearwater. We are crossing off so many fishing piers on the Gulf Coast! We got gelato after fishing and walked around the main street shops that we hadn’t checked out before.

Week 13 Adventures
[May 22] I launched my Etsy shop out into the world called Ooh Dolly! So, if you are looking for handmade lightweight quality polymer clay earrings, then I am your go to girl! The link is attached to the name of my shop above. New listings will be posted frequently, so there will always be a variety! And, if you ever have a special occasion or see something in passing that you like and want made by me, just let me know! If you’re having trouble finding the shop, type in Ooh Dolly into Etsy’s search bar and click on the area that says, “shop names containing Ooh Dolly”. Feel free to text or email me if you need anything!

[May 24] We went evening and sunset fishing at A.J. Palonis Park. It was a little tricky to find, but had a really great spot to see the sunset.

[May 25] We took advantage of a cloudy morning to rent a two seater mini speed boat in downtown Tampa. We had so much fun getting to see some of our favorite spots downtown without the traffic!

[May 26] This day marked our 3 year wedding anniversary! We spent the day soaking up the sun together at the beach on Treasure Island! We reflected on the last 3 years as husband and wife. And honestly, we couldn’t have had a better day just being together. That evening we took a short drive to John’s Pass Village and Boardwalk. This was such a cute area and we’re so glad that we finally got to check it out!

[May 28] And…that’s a wrap on our first 13 week travel nurse assignment here in Tampa! Bobby took a photo after his last night shift at St. Joseph’s Hospital North. And even after working a 12 hour shift this guy was still smiling! I couldn’t be more proud of this accomplishment for him and for us. We are so excited for the next travel nursing assignment opportunity! We are waiting on the Lord and His timing to show us where we will be next!
